Unique Motorcars 427 Model

Welcome to our 427 Model

This is the 427 Model Replica from Unique Motorcars. We hope you will find the information on this page helpful in getting acquainted with our 427 product. Our capabilities in building fine quality Cobra* Replicas is well known. We offer kits and turnkeys in both the famous 289 Model and the 427 Model.

The 427 Model Cobra* was the big block car that was built to beat the Big Block Corvettes after they finally beat the 289 Cobra* back in the mid 1960s. This was the powerhouse beat-all racecar that brought fame to the Cobra*. Our Replicar is very authentic to the original body design. We have used only authentic parts and hardware to ensure that this car requires even an expert to look close to tell it is in-fact a Replica. We offer aluminum engine, trunk, grill mouth and oil cooler shroud panels (optional) to perpetuate the original look of this beautiful car. We use only the highest quality leather on original style seats, and also on the beautifully finished door panels. The dash is covered in a more indestructible vinyl, resembling the leather very closely. We custom fabricate each set of headers and side pipes to fit the exact engine block you are going to employ in your dream machine. We have "dummy blocks" for each small, or large, block engine type. These are not extra, as in many kits, but are an integral part of our "Deluxe Pallet kit". We use the original dashboard layout, the drivers side roll bar, and many other items to make your car not only authentic to the original, but also very safe and comfortable for you, the driver. We look forward to getting a request for quotation from you for one of our very fine famous kits. You will be rewarded, not only in the thrill of driving a Replica Classic, but also in the exhilarating power and acceleration these cars provide. By going with Unique, you also ensure your financial investment with the highest resale value of any  Cobra* Replica Kit.

Let us explore the differences between the 427 and the 289 car

The 427 roll bar is chrome typically, the trunk lid is smooth, and the "Le Mans" type gas filler cap is recessed into the right rear fender of this Model. Also, note the dashboard layout. The side pipes are different in-that they are larger diameter and often chrome or ceramic silver coated opposed to the flat black pipes on the 289 Model.

The engine in this 427 is a "big block" (or FE block) engine. It has the correct header tank (original on the 427 engine), and the turkey pan shroud around the single four barrel Holley carburetor. The air cleaner is a Stellings & Hellings 8 1/2 inch unit (as the original) with single carburetor. Some of the 427s had two four barrel carburetors. Then, they use the same air cleaners, but no turkey pan.

Unique Motorcars also offers the small block engine set up in the 427 model
